How will Alexa Bliss respond to Mickie James’ attack?

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss had no issue calling Mickie James “an old lady” this past Monday night, but after suffering two slaps and a high-heeled kick to the face from the six-time Women’s Champion, Little Miss Bliss might have learned a painful lesson in respect. Then again, we also doubt that she’s apologetic about what she said.

“The Goddess of WWE” is undoubtedly regretting bringing Mickie back to WWE earlier this year. What will she have to say about the veteran Superstar on Raw?

What will be the fallout from chaotic Raw Woman’s Champion Fatal 5-Way Match?

Yes, Alexa Bliss emerged victorious against the odds in an extremely turbulent Fatal 5-Way Raw Women’s Championship Match at WWE No Mercy, but how will the chaotic free-for-all transform the Women’s division moving forward? Can Alexa and Nia Jax just go back to being best friends? What about Bayley and Sasha Banks? Who came out of the fray in the best position to challenge the “Goddess of WWE” next?

Moreover, the announcement that dominant former NXT Champion Asuka will make her main roster debut at WWE TLC will surely make for an even more unstable Women’s division.

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss def. Sasha Banks, Bayley, Nia Jax and Emma (Fatal 5-Way Match)

One huggable home-state hero, one legit boss, one self-proclaimed Women’s Revolutionary, one powerhouse, no problem. Alexa Bliss is still Raw Women’s Champion, defying every odd imaginable to withstand a wild Fatal 5-Way that put her in the path of Sasha Banks, Emma, Nia Jax and Bayley, who was making her in-ring return after suffering a shoulder injury last month.

The match, unsurprisingly, turned into a game of cat-and-mice, with everyone not named Nia Jax uniting against the mighty Superstar in their attempt to take the most impactful player out of the game. At one point, Emma attempted to do so by herself — just one of many audacious undertakings she took in order to finally prove to the WWE Universe that she should be recognized as the originator of the Women’s Revolution.

But no amount of boldness could distract from the Nia Jax show; she pulverized everyone and everything in sight, most spectacularly with a double Samoan Drop to both Bliss and Banks. It took two group efforts by all four opponents to take her out — first, a simple dump out of the ring, and later, a savage combo of a double dropkick/powerbomb off the ring apron to the floor.
That second attempt, for a while at least, did the job, and what ensued was a chaotic free-for-all. Sasha and Bayley even came as close to blows as they have since their time together in NXT, breaking up each other’s respective finishers and trading pinfall attempts on a beleaguered Bliss.

The resurgence of Jax stopped the action cold, though Emma proved herself an unlikely hero by saving Banks from a pinfall after Nia dropped a leg on her sternum. Bliss quickly got involved by ejecting Emma from the ring, and an intended charge into the corner finally took Nia out of the action when she missed her target and collided with the turnbuckle. Bliss threw Bayley into Emma as she attempted to interfere and planted The Huggable One with a devastating DDT for the victory.

If you thought Alexa would be humbled by the odds she had to overcome, however, you’d be mistaken. In a post-match interview with Renee Young, Bliss claimed she stood above the stars of Hollywood as Raw’s one and only Women’s Champion and the only true “Goddess” in WWE. In fairness, this is true. There aren’t many people who have been able to stand toe-to-toe with the “Goddess” … so far.

WWE Raw preview, Sept. 18, 2017: Nia Jax battles “The Goddess of WWE” one-on-one

Just six nights before Alexa Bliss defends her Raw Women’s Championship in a Fatal 4-Way Match at WWE No Mercy, she’ll have to take on one of her challengers, the imposing Nia Jax, in singles action on Raw. Will Little Miss Bliss once again regret getting on the bad side of the forceful Jax?

Ever since Nia Jax dropped Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss moments after “The Goddess of WWE” reclaimed her title from Sasha Banks, the WWE Universe has been clamoring for a one-one-one match between the two former friends, and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle was more than happy to oblige.

Six nights before Jax, Sasha Banks and Emma challenge Alexa in a Fatal 4-Way Match at WWE No Mercy, Nia squares off with Little Miss Bliss one-on-one on Raw. Can Jax shake Alexa’s confidence before next Sunday’s title match?

Are Alexa Bliss’ days numbered as Raw Women’s Champion?
What was once a singles rematch at WWE No Mercy pitting Sasha Banks against Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss has transformed into a Fatal 4-Way Match that also includes Nia Jax and Emma after the two earned their way into the title bout by picking up a tag team victory over The Boss and Little Miss Bliss last week.

There’s no love lost between any of the competitors in this matchup, but with Jax and the opportunistic Emma added to the mix, the so-called “Goddess of WWE’s” chances of leaving the STAPLES Center with the Raw Women’s Title are slim to none. Will these unfavorable odds shake Alexa’s confidence as WWE No Mercy approaches?

Alexa Bliss def. Sasha Banks to become the new Raw Women’s Champion

The Brooklyn Curse may have been broken, but Sasha Banks fell victim to yet another bit of bad juju that has dogged her: losing the Raw Women’s Championship in her first defense.

This time, Alexa Bliss dethroned The Boss in their SummerSlam rematch to become a two-time Raw Women’s Champion, though Bliss certainly isn’t about to saunter into the sunset unscathed. The Boss was firmly in control of the bout and well on her way to fulfilling a pre-match promise to make Little Miss Bliss tap out, despite having taken a couple of strong forearms to the face. But the wily Alexa bounced Sasha gullet-first off the top rope and planted her nemesis with a brutal DDT for the win.

Sasha’s night wasn’t over, as Nia Jax made her way to the squared circle to congratulate Alexa before splashing The Boss in the corner and hoisting Alexa on her shoulders. That said, Alexa’s night wasn’t over either, as Nia backdropped Bliss off her shoulders and held the Raw Women’s Title over her head. Alexa might call that rude. But she should know, when it comes to the title, there’s no such thing.

Sasha Banks def. Emma and Alicia Fox in a Triple Threat Qualifying Match
It’s official: The shoulder injury Bayley suffered last week will keep The Huggable One out of SummerSlam, which means the field for Alexa Bliss’ Raw Women’s Title is wide open. And Bayley’s preferred substitute — Sasha Banks — got one step closer to Little Miss Bliss only moments after Bayley addressed the WWE Universe and bowed out of contention.

In the first of two Triple Threat Qualifying Matches, The Boss surged past Alicia Fox and Emma, though the Australian grappler proved her mettle as a persistent foil to Banks throughout the match. Not only did Emma nearly take Sasha out of commission by targeting her back, but when The Boss locked Fox in the Bank Statement, Emma rolled her off into a pinfall attempt. Some quick thinking from The Boss, however, landed Emma in the same hold, this one good enough to earn the tapout victory.

Bayley def. Nia Jax via Count-out

As it turns out, Alexa Bliss couldn’t be happier that Bayley will be the one to challenge her at SummerSlam — she had no desire to face Sasha Banks again and sees The Huggable One as slim pickings after beating her for the Raw Women’s Title in the first place.

That Bayley had to take on Nia Jax without Banks in the building seemed to drastically hurt The Huggable One’s odds, especially after Nia left her with a banged-up shoulder. When The Huggable One managed to even the odds and take the fight to the outside, Bliss intervened and Bayley managed to hold her off and claim a count-out victory after she olé’d Nia into the steel steps.

Bayley wasn’t so bold as to throw down with both Superstars with only one good arm, but perhaps her title hopes aren’t quite as slim as Little Miss Bliss would like to believe.

Bayley def. Sasha Banks to earn an opportunity to challenge Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam

The comeback kid is heading back to her home turf.

Bayley powered past Sasha Banks in a grueling bout between best friends to earn an opportunity against Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam, sending The Huggable One back to the site of one of her biggest triumphs to potentially complete a remarkable rebound run back to the Raw Women’s Title.

Banks, somewhat surprisingly, seemed to be almost looking past Bayley in the lead-up to this match, focusing more on her desire to punish Bliss in a pre-match powwow than on how to defeat The Huggable One. All she would say of the match was that “the best woman” would win.

True to Bliss’ own prediction earlier in the night, friendship did kind of go out the window — Bayley hung so tough that the two women resorted to a hockey-style fight at one point — and it came down to the absolute wire, as Bayley kicked out of a Frog Splash and instantly rolled up Sasha for three.

Alexa, who was on commentary for the match, didn’t miss the opportunity to hit the squared circle and flaunt her title in the face of her challenger. SummerSlam is set. May the best woman win.
