Alexa Bliss hosted SmackDown LIVE’s Women’s Division “Blissertation”

With Mickie James by her side, SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss addressed the WWE Universe with a self-titled “Blissertation” in hopes of announcing her opponent for WrestleMania … but then, right after declaring herself the greatest female Superstar on the entire SmackDown LIVE roster, seemingly everything went wrong for the Wicked Witch of WWE.First, Becky Lynch interrupted to say that she would be the one to defeat Bliss for the title at WrestleMania, then Natalya arrived to imply the same and finally Mickie piped up to say that she too expected Bliss to call her name for the opportunity, which didn’t exactly seem to be what the SmackDown Women’s Champion had in mind. This all prompted SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan to arrive on the scene to make sense of the developing chaos. Much to Bliss’ chagrin, the “YES!” Man announced that because she perceived herself to be the best of the bunch on SmackDown LIVE, she would defend the title against every available woman on the roster at The Show of Shows. Bryan then doubled down and channeled soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer Theodore Long, making a tag team match pitting Lynch & Natalya against Bliss & James.

Alexa Bliss & Mickie James def. Becky Lynch & Natalya

The four Superstars wasted no time getting into the heat of the action, as Lynch, James and Natalya basked in the knowledge that they were now WrestleMania-bound.

Bliss & Mickie’s alliance seemed to pay dividends in the early portions of the contest with the two using their familiarity with one another to gain an edge. Natalya and Lynch fought back, but the tide shifted when Natalya turned on The Irish Lass Kicker, giving James & Bliss the chance to capitalize. James attempted to pin the fallen Lynch, but Bliss would blind tag herself in to score the victory.

Seemingly tired of the poor treatment from Bliss over the course of the evening, James blasted the SmackDown Women’s Champion in the face with a Mick Kick after the match.

Who will challenge Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania?

As far as two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss is concerned, anything is possible. Becky Lynch continues to stand toe-to-toe with the Wicked Witch of WWE. In addition, after some questionable statements last week from Natalya, there is a strong possibly that The Queen of Hart-less may also be gunning for a title opportunity. When it comes down to it, in a time where the Women’s division is arguably stronger than it ever has ever been, any of Team Blue’s female competitors could step up to try and take Alexa’s place on top of the mountain.

Becky Lynch def. Mickie James in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match
The instant-classic rivalry between Becky Lynch and Mickie James entered its next phase as the two world class Superstars tested their grappling wits in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match. The first fall went to Mickie when she hit a big DDT. However, Lynch bounced back, evening the score with a surprise rollup on the savvy veteran. With the scoreboard reading 1-1, SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss came to ringside clearly attempting to help Mickie secure the victory, but it backfired, leading to Lynch locking in the Dis-arm-her to score her second fall and the win.

Due to her unfortunate knee injury, Naomi was forced to relinquish her SmackDown Women’s Championship to SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan because it was established that she would be unable to defend her title in the allotted 30-day period. However, before Naomi could even fully exit, former titleholder Alexa Bliss emerged to demand that she be re-awarded the title right then and there.

Instead, Bryan opted to give her the opportunity to win the championship in an impromptu match against long-standing adversary Becky Lynch!

Alexa Bliss def. Becky Lynch to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship

In this impromptu SmackDown Women’s Championship Match, Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch absolutely threw down, each in a quest to reclaim the title they previously held. Both Superstars were relentless in their pursuit of closing the deal, but in the end, it was Bliss who struck Lynch in the throat and then grabbed the tights on a rollup without the referee noticing to pick up the victory.

After the match, Bliss’ ally Mickie James made her way to the ring to celebrate with the new titleholder. Though the two sinister Superstars seemingly began to take their leave, James could not resist but go back to get some licks of her own in on The Irish Lass Kicker. However, the impulse was ill-advised as Lynch was able to turn the tide on James and send her reeling … at least for now.

Will injured SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi be ready to fend off Alexa Bliss?

Last week, Naomi achieved a lifelong dream by capturing the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Alexa Bliss at WWE Elimination Chamber. However, in the process of carrying out such a monumental victory, the glowing Superstar suffered an injury that rendered her unable to grant Bliss her guaranteed title rematch two days later on SmackDown LIVE.

In response, The Wicked Witch of WWE opted to give the new titleholder one week before coming to take back what she believes is hers. Will Naomi be ready to throw down? What will Alexa do if she isn’t?

New SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi was interrupted by Alexa Bliss

Naomi returned from Elimination Chamber as the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Though she suffered a knee injury in the process, it couldn’t have possibly been as painful as the sudden interruption from Alexa Bliss. The Wicked Witch of WWE had no sympathy for Naomi’s injury and gave the new champion an ultimatum — Naomi had until next week to prepare for their rematch or else Bliss would beat The Glow down and simply take back what was hers.

     WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 results.

Naomi def. Alexa Bliss (SmackDown Women’s Championship)

Time for the WWE Universe to bask in the glow. At WWE Elimination Chamber, Naomi overcame the fierce and, at times, underhanded attack of Alexa Bliss to win the first championship of her career in the form of the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Her victory, however, would not come easy. Bliss has remained champion in no small part thanks to some unsavory tactics, and this match at Elimination Chamber proved to be no exception. In the end, though, Naomi, arguably WWE’s most gifted athlete, would persevere. She not only countered Alexa’s offense, but nearly brought the house down when she bounced off the top rope and flipped backward, landing on a prone Bliss. The impact rendered the champion immobile, ensuring Naomi’s victory and putting an end to Little Miss Bliss’ 70-day reign.

After the match, Naomi became overcome with emotion, shedding tears of joy as the WWE Universe filled the Talking Stick Resort Arena with chants of “You deserve it!” As a result, Naomi not only begins her first title reign, but she will also have the honor of walking into WrestleMania, in her hometown of Orlando, as the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

A historic Elimination Chamber dual contract signing turned volatile
In a historic first, Renee Young moderated a dual contract signing for Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, in order to make official both the SmackDown Women’s Championship Match between Alexa Bliss and Naomi and a contest between Mickie James and Becky Lynch.

Young was smart enough to stay out of the way … and, well, she was wise to do just that. While Mickie and Becky traded insults over who was the better competitor, Bliss and Naomi each continued to attempt to get the mental advantage over the other ahead of their championship clash. This all led to the inevitable melee between these combustible elements, which eventually saw the Naomi and Lynch tandem stand tall as they sent Bliss and James heading for the hills.
